Community matters!! It is something ESSENTIAL in my life. I would not last long without my people. My goal here is to not only to create a fun, welcoming, safe online community for us to connect and share, but also to continue to build offline communities as well!

A Community Building Love Story

I moved to Shenzhen, China in 2017, and it quickly became apparent there was a need for a way to get new clothes without buying new or throwing away unwanted items. So in early 2019 I hosted my first clothing exchange in Shenzhen! The first exchange was just a small group of about 10 or so friends, but as word spread, more and more women joined the group.

By 2021 there were close to 250 women in the clothing exchange community! These swaps were some of the most rewarding, empowering, and FUN events that I've not only attended but also organized. They became a Shenzhen staple that we all looked forward to. This community and these events even went on to inspire women who had attended them to start their own clothing exchange in cities they relocated to!

In 2024 I left Shenzhen and I stepped down as the Founder and Head Organizer of the Shenzhen Clothing Exchange and passed the reins on to an amazing human who is now keeping the community alive, colorful, and fun!

I couldn't be more grateful for the amazing women who helped build this community and for all the support over the years. Building this and watching it grow has shown me just how magical community is and can be. And even though I have moved away from Shenzhen, I aspire to host events and build communities just like this one no matter where I go.
